So it's come to light recently that several "gaming" sites have picked up on a billboard in Cyberpunk 2077 running a potentially offensive ad. The billboard shows a trans woman with a "monster dong" peddling cola. Rock Paper Shotgun especially shows that they have some major issues with this. They claim it shows CD Projekt Red is displaying phobic imagery. When people began to tell RPS that they were in the wrong and that the artist stated that the ad was beautiful and making a statement, RPS claimed context doesn't matter.

In this case, RPS is way off base and context means EVERYTHING. It almost always does. The writers finding issue with the billboard are exhibiting receiver bias. They are assuming something is bad without knowing the circumstances of literally the entire game. I can't stand crap like that and it shows the problem not with the ad but the article writes. In the video I compared it to the issue with Tomi Lahren saying Elizabeth Warren (not Pelosi like I mentioned) had a racist statue in her kitchen. In both cases, the problem lies with the receiver, not the sender.
