Cyberpunk Doom II Level | DEx

REVIEW
---------------------------------------------------------
Much like what was said at the end, DEx (Diabolus Ex in full) is essentially a quaint little level to experience utilizing Doom 2's engine as a baseline.
The overall aesthetic plays on cyberpunk themes with visual and audible tones suggesting this in the form of electronic music, technological advancements, advertising and overall "feel" you would get from similar mediums using it. Considering the level is inspired from Deus Ex, a franchise that has very much popularized cyberpunk concepts, it is no surprise here.
Pacing was fluid and much like Doom, it's either tight corridors or arena-like openings and the occasional keycard required to progress in different areas. Also like Doom, there are many secrets and alternative paths to be taken but in my playthrough, I was rather straightforward as there is quite a lot of stuff I apparently missed out on (went back and used the console to explore a bit). Whether you take your time or blast through the level, it's still enjoyable all the same.
I touch upon this too at the end and if I upload future Doom content to the channel I will reiterate this, .wads should not be slept on if you own Doom 2. So many well made and cared for mods that cover different themes to what you might look for (story oriented, arena based, slow-paced, action, horror, etc.) are spread across the internet and not only is it quality, most of them are free too. A simple level like DEx barely scratches the surface.
