"This one got a new life. Why don't you?"
......
*AU

Plot: Loki and Laura shared a complicated relationship. They started out as friends back the days, and at one point he eventually developed feelings for her, admitting that it was out of innocent impulses and even goes as far to claim that he only hangs out with her brother ( Mad Sweeney in this universe) to get close to her. Laura is flattered, saying that she knows. Although it seems like the girl would reciprocate his feelings, in the end she chose to date someone else instead, leaving Loki confused and heartbroken. Years later, Sweeney goes to visit Loki, and catches him watching old VHS of Laura's singing. Sympathetic, somewhat touched, he told his friend to move on, as it would be better for him. Loki doesn't response however, and Sweeney turns to scold Laura instead (who had grown brashful and blunt over time with her recent breakup), which left her determined to look for Loki again (borrowing Sweeney's car). They met, much to Loki's perplexity, and went out together in numerous places. When Laura asked him to rekindle their relationship, Loki leaves abruptly, conflicted and flustered. A friend of his (Naomi Watts) upon hearing this questions his feelings, and Loki realized that he had never truly stop loving Laura, in spite of her change in personality, or her mistakes in the past. He searches for her once again, and the two slowly rebuild their bond. Something that was far different than the puppy-eyed, innocent love of the rosy old days-- And then again, it was beautiful.

Holy heck this project took FOREVER. I started vidding this like a month ago, constantly loses and gains inspiration, and now it's finally doneeeeee. I can't think of any other AU pairs that would fit the sadness and angst and beauty of this song aside from Dect. Loki and Laura Moon (and yes, I started this ship lol). They're freaking awesome as standalone characters, too! And I know this is no good excuse for not using manips, but I'm pretty sure that my terrible masking skills would have taken away the subdued atmostphere of the song. So in the end, keeping its style simple was the way to go. Hopefully I'm not wrong and this was the right decision :))))
