D&D Players Overcome By Monster Madness ๐ฐ๐ GM 911
Another gmae master needs some tips for dealing with his current gaming group. As usual Nerdarchy does our best to lay down the our DMing experience to help our fellow dungeon master along.
Original GM 911 Post
Hey guys, I'm in a rough patch with my characters and thought you'd be the ones to seek out.
A while back, my gaming group put a new campaign on hold to wait for a player to return. During their absence, I had them take up the role of a bumbling band of monsters in the same region, using this to set up backstory for the area when the game returned to its proper characters, and for some short goofy adventures.
The player we were waiting for has unfortunately informed us they won't be returning, and I'm ready to transition back to a more serious, "traditional" D&D game, but my players are very attached to their monsters and their low-stakes silly sessions. How would you suggest I transition them back to adventurers without incurring the wrath of my players?
