Rules Lawyer in tabletop role-playing games generally have a negative connotation, but it doesn't have to. You can sit at the table and drop dice with your friends, recite the rules from the DMG and PHB without being a jerk about it. It's a matter of harnessing these players and their knowledge of the rules for the good of the gaming group. From the beginning of the Dungeons and Dragons game their has been the rules lawyer it's become one of the iconic types of players at the game table. 5E and every edition of D&D has had them. Come 6th edition Dungeons and Dragons they will still be here. So we mind as well try to use them for the betterment of the game.
