Darius ダライアス Taito Arcade Game Simulation Video from Japan (1987) 1080p 60fps
A VHS tape published by Sony Video Software that was available for sale in Japan way back in 1987, which is all about Taito's classic multi-screen aquatic-themed arcade space shooter, Darius. It retailed for 3500 yen (plus tax, I believe) and has an official run time of 20 minutes.
This is basically a showcase of some gameplay, 11 boss characters and all 5 endings in the game, almost like a music video as no sound effects are present. Much like the OutRun video from Sony that I uploaded on this channel already, it's a simple and kind of pricey video tape, so I wonder how it was received at the time. Anyway, Darius is a trail-blazing shooter that doesn't get enough credit for how good it is...or at least its unique art style and amazing soundtrack from Zuntata (before it was "Zuntata," I believe).
This video was recorded on a Sharp VC-ES20B S-VHS deck using Sony S-Video cables upscaled to 1080p 60fps via the Framemeister, captured using an AverMedia Live Gamer Mini GC311.
