A VHS tape produced by Kodansha Video and Production I.G that documents the making of the Sony PlayStation video game Ghost in the Shell's awesome animated intro. This tape was made for sale in Japan in 1998 for 1905 yen (plus tax) and has an official runtime of 30 minutes.

This tape is basically a documentary that chronicles the process of creating the digital and traditional media hybrid animated intro from the PS1 game Ghost in the Shell. It includes behind-the-scenes video, interviews with the people involved (including Masamune Shirow represented by an avatar and a whole lot of animators with some very impressive resumes), and is overall a fascinating look at an artform that was still relatively fresh and new at the time. Also, you have to love the random fuchikoma CG renders in most of the interviews.

This is a game that had a huge impact on me as a child and is one of my favorite PS1 games. I would put on the game afterschool and just let the intro loop over and over, and show it to all my friends, so seeing this documentary on how the intro was made was extra fascinating to me. I think that if I had seen this as a kid, and had been able to understand it like I do now, I would have continued my studies in art rather than abandoning them while in university for an ultimately meaningless university degree...but that's neither here nor there, my apologies!

This video was recorded on a Sharp VC-ES20B S-VHS deck using Sony S-Video cables upscaled to 1080p 60fps via the Framemeister, captured using an AverMedia Live Gamer Mini GC311.
