Super Monaco GP & Turbo OutRun スーパーモナコGP & ターボアウトラン w/S.S.T. Band Video Strategy Guide 1080p 60fps
A VHS tape published by Pony Canyon that was available for sale or rent in Japan way back in 1989, which is all about Sega's 80s arcade classics Super Monaco GP and Turbo Out Run. It retailed for 4800 yen plus tax and has an official run time of 60 minutes.
This is essentially a video strategy guide for the two games, showing playthroughs of each accompanied by narration that gives tips and other info. I love how the narrator says her English lines in perfect, proper English...and I think I may be in love with her. ANYWAY, at the end of the tape is a live performance by Sega's house band, the S.S.T. Band, performing a great rendition of OutRun's legendary track Magical Sound Shower. Sexy cars, sexy babes, sexy music, and sexy narrator voices...man, the 80s had it all!
On a final note and going back to the narrator (I swear I'm not a stalker), she is Carol Hisasue, who was a radio DJ and personality from back in the day, who is apparently a writer/activist in the United States. The more you know.
This video was recorded on a Sharp VC-ES20B S-VHS deck using Sony S-Video cables upscaled to 1080p 60fps via the Framemeister, captured using an AverMedia Live Gamer Mini GC311.
