Dark pools, over the counter and off exchange/off book trading are destroying the stock market
Multiple stock markets is inefficient, promotes market manipulation and illegal activities and causes the stock market to collapse, as stated by the CEO of binance, with multiple markets you need HFT firms abusing the market and making billions of $ from the investors, just to generate enough liquidity to keep the market stable, however, with 1 market there is no need for HFT firms.
But yet, the stock market has 12 different primary markets, unknown amounts of dark pools, over the counter trades taking place between all major banks and also completely unreported off book/off exchange transactions going through too, literally the least efficient thing imaginable.
