The SEC is preparing for a market collapse
The SEC has implemented new disclosure requirements for private funds and family offices, to ensure they aren't holding any sketchy derivatives that could blow up the market.
They've also removed the DTCC's ability to be a Self Regulatory Organisation, as they can't be trusted either.
They've granted the ability for the OCC and DTCC to borrow additional cash from pension funds/insurance funds in the event of a hedge fund going bankrupt.
And the biden administration created a new pension bailout plan, I guess in the event they are drained when the DTCC/OCC need to borrow cash.
