Sages of ancient ways is a ,,stress-DoT" team, here are roles of characters:
1st: Hellion (stress trinket + accuracy trinket) - deathblow dealer
2nd: Antiquarian (dodge trinkets) - DoT dealer
3rd: Occultist (dodge trinket + stress trinket) - stress dealer
4th: Vestal (stun trinket + accuracy trinket) - healer
PROS:
1) Great stress output
2) Great DoT output
3) Great healing potential
4) 2 deathblowers
CONS:
1) Disruption is a menace
2) Stress is a menace
3) DoT is a menace
4) Stuns are a menace
5) Marks are a menace
6) Low damage output
Sages of ancient ways is a strange stress team with great strength of DoT and little bit of pure damage. All characters can (self)heal, next you have 2 deathblowers. Unfortunately this team is weak against every possible team, no matter on player’s rank.
I tried to play a few strategies, such as „mix damage + DoT“, „double finisher“, „mix damage + stress“ and „full stress“. I tried both variantions of Hellion (damager / stresser), both variantions are good.
My advice: Start with Occultist for disruption, next use Hellion for debuffing the frontline, then Antiquarian for applying DoT and lastly Vestal for stunning someone.
Well, this team… It’s very unusual, the frontline duo (Antiquarian-Hellion) can distract the opponent, because nobody expects Antiquarian in front positions. So it’s a quite advantage against mark teams. Unfortunately I lost a few matches, one against darkest player with LAME based mark team, one against novice player with stress team and one against apprentice in rematch. The team’s downside is damage output, only Hellion (and if Vestal with „Mace bash“ gets to the frontline) can deal great damage. The playing was hard, even against these novice players, but quite „fun“. Still, I don’t recommend it.
