Hello there ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to Pathfinder Plays and today we are going to be talking about something that I have been pondering for some time now, and would like your opinions on. The NDA. Lets get into it.
As we all know there is an NDA in place for the Closed Alpha of Dead Matter. For those of you who don’t know what NDA is, it stands for Non-Disclosure Agreement. The purpose of an NDA is to protect information exchanged between two or more parties. Anyone who signs a confidentiality agreement, or in this case, accepts the NDA message before you enter the game, is promising to keep the relevant information secret. The relevant information in a video game NDA, is of course, the game itself.
There is nothing wrong with having an NDA, though from a content creators view, it is rather annoying. Often times, if the game looks rough or the developers are simply not comfortable showing off the systems the game has to offer, they will place an NDA on the project to ensure that the game doesn’t get out into the public eyes. Because, after all, first appearances are everything. But, there is something that is destroying the whole point of the NDA, and that is, the Dead Matter Policy and those who have cracked the game by various means.
