Deathsmiles 1CC (barely) - Rosa / 65M / non-death-mode
0This is pretty much the roughest 1CC imaginable on my 3rd-ever visit to the final boss (and only my 4th attempt ever seeing 4-2 to begin with, all in one night), but I miraculously survived.
After getting nowhere with the game in the past 4 weeks, I decided on a whim to switch off of Windia and try different characters again (for the first time in 3 months), ended up gravitating to Rosa, and after a few attempts, somehow pulled off my first 1CC, on the last Thursday this game would be in the Shmup Book Club rotation.
Deathsmiles has impressively granular difficulty, allowing the player to choose difficulty on each of the first 6 stages (but you can only choose the lower 2 difficulties one time each for each tier of stages), and having additional challenge beyond that involving an optional extra penultimate stage and death mode. This 1CC is definitely near the low end of the difficulty spectrum, though not the absolute bare minimum (I played both A-1 and C-1 on level 3).
