In Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Genesis, there's a hidden Debug Mode that you can access through the level select screen, which is another hidden secret that I covered in a previous video.

So first, you'll need to enter the Level Select code. To do that, start up the game and go to the options screen. Then go to the Sound Test and play the following sounds in this order: 19, 65, 09, 17. If you did it right, you'll hear an additional sound as if Sonic just collected a ring. Then back out to the title screen, hold the A button, then hit Start on 1 Player mode. This should bring you to the level select screen.

Anyway.

AFTER you get to the Level Select screen, you'll see another sound test at the bottom right. Select the following sounds in this order: 1, 9, 9, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4. If you did it right, you should hear an additional ring sound effect.

Finally, pick a stage, hit Start, then hold the A button. Once the level starts, you can hit the B button to start debugging.

Basically the way debugging works is you can scroll through a list of object using the A button and place them wherever you want using the D-Pad and the C button. Then you can hit B button again to revert back to Sonic and play the stage.

Side note, the numbers 1992, 11/24 represents the North American release date of Sonic the Hedgehog 2.
