In Rygar for the NES, there's a way to explore some glitched out portions of the map by abusing an auto-fire controller.

In order to perform this trick, you'll need the Grappling Weapon and probably the NES Max controller, or anything with some serious turbo buttons. Then, you need to climb to the top of the tallest tower in the Valley of Rolsa. This is pretty close to the beginning of the game, and it shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes to get here, probably.

Anyway, stand on the left platform at the top of this tall tower (you should see the floating palace in the sky here). Now hold your Turbo B button and Left on the D-Pad. Your character will begin to float slowly downward while moving left. For some reason, when your hero descends past the bottom of the screen, he will not die. In fact, he will wrap back to the top of the screen.

Now keep traveling to the left in this manner and eventually you will see a glitched-out screen that is most likely supposed to represent the top room in the Tower of Garba. It looks kinda cool and it's neat to see how the map is laid out in this game, but ultimately it serves no function. USELESS GLITCH!

Anyway, I thought it was cool. And if you try to grapple out of the area, some strange things can happen, such as a never-ending climb or a plain ol' game crash.
