New Release Friday returns this week with a romp into Deliver Us The Moon Review and Gameplay. This game defines short but sweet. Very sweet, but also cut short in this case. We will talk in more detail about my opinions on Deliver Us The Moon: Fortuna as this description wears on, but first here is the link to the Steam page if you want to watch the rest of the introduction cut scene. I avoid spoilers for the most part in this video, but some people may want a little more insight before watching 17 minutes of gameplay and a review.

Here is what the devs have to say:
Deliver Us The Moon is set in the near future where Earth's natural resources are depleted. In an effort to solve the energy crisis, global powers created the World Space Agency and secured a promising new source of energy on the moon. The World Space Agency colonized and operated from the moon until one fateful night all communications with Earth ceased and the energy source was lost. Now, years later, you assume the role of Earth's last astronaut to go on a do-or-die mission to investigate what happened and save humanity.
During this adventure, your only companion is a small robot named ASE. Together you will traverse the moon, explore abandoned facilities, gather clues and ultimately uncover the secrets and hidden agendas that are at play. Only by relying on your wits will you have a chance at successfully delivering the moon!

Also, New Release Friday is a series in which (hopefully) every week I will hop over to the “New Releases” section of Steam and pick-up a game to play for a few hours and give a first-thought review on. This series is an attempt to not only keep content fresh and relevant around the channel by covering current games in a concise and genuine fashion, but also to offer exposure to new games via a relaxed review format to inform potential, unsure buyers. Now, as for this Deliver Us The Moon review and gameplay we can start off with the sweet part of the short but sweet. This game blew my mind in many aspects, so let’s start off with the performance and graphics. This is made on the Unreal engine and is probably one of the better running games I have played recently. Deliver Us The Moon: Fortuna just feels incredibly smooth almost all the time. There were a couple of performance hits when loading a new area, but overall it was buttery smooth even while recording. What makes this even sweeter is that the graphics are stunning. The environments are artfully crafted with much attention to detail, the effects and lighting are used incredibly well to set tone and to guide the player. Speaking of the player, I could do an entire review just of the cool looking space suit that you wear and all the neat tools you use in Deliver Us The Moon.

Further into the our Deliver Us The Moon gameplay we can really give a quality review of the controls and overall movement system. They really hit the nail on the head with the controls and the way movement feels when you are in zero gravity. The thrusters direct and nudge you gently and deliberately, almost like you are being specifically placed in each spot you move. The ASE moves smoothly and expectedly for a robot and also serves as a huge benefit to the gameplay review portion as it makes you feel a little less alone on this barren waste of the moon in Deliver Us The Moon. Though you do have your crew talking to you occasionally, I sometimes wish they spoke to me a bit more and made me feel more like a member of the team.

Deliver Us The Moon: Fortuna is reviewing very highly with me in many categories, not just gameplay. Another area is the story. The story is presented almost as an aside to the objective of getting the MPT back online, but the more you uncover the more you want to know and the more exciting all of the twists and turns become in the Deliver Us The Moon review and gameplay. However, our short but sweet now need to touch on the short: the game just ends very abruptly. Right when you think it is taking off and really getting started, the credits roll and leave you feeling slapped in the face by Deliver Us The Moon and wishing you had more world to explore, more things to see, more excuses to float about, and actual answers to the questions they planted in your head.

For just under $20, this Deliver Us The Moon: Fortuna review is very close to being an absolute recommendation because of all the wonderful things in the game, but the cliffhanger and short but sweet aspect of the game really feels like an intentional kick in the balls by the devs and they had to have known what they were doing to their players when they ended the game like this. Accordingly, I can’t recommend Deliver Us The Moon until it gets a proper ending and closure for all of its fans, including me.
