Delta Force: Task Force Dagger | Operation 3: Tiger | Night Raid | Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan
Welcome back to Delta Force: Task Force Dagger, a military simulation, tactical shooter created by Novalogic in 2002. The game was originally meant to serve as a Standalone expansion to its predecessor, Delta Force: Land Warrior. It boasts a wide variety of weaponry and selection of character classes from various specialised military forces from around the world, all with their own unique traits and abilities. The game follows the team in question, a joint task force called Viper 33, that works to disassemble terrorist and extremist militia units across various parts of the world. The game, in contrast to older titles such as the original Delta Force, is more action-oriented and accessible, being made on the same engine as Land Warrior, even though it boasts greater design and rendering technology at the cost of simplified gameplay.
Dagger has assigned Viper 33 with a new confirmed enemy command and control division in the North-West corner of the city of Mazar-e Sharif.
The insertion and raid is to take place during the night to exploit the element of surprise and maintain the element of stealth. Indigenous HUMINT states that the division commander will be at the camp tonight, making it the ideal time to strike.
The objectives for this raid are twofold. The first is to raid the compound and seize any enemy intelligence while eliminating hostiles as it pleases the operatives. The second is to find and capture the division commander for interrogation.
Viper 33 was inserted into the C&C centre via black widow and infiltrated the compound via the gates of the electrified fence. The division commander was found first, resting in the tents rather than the barracks, and his capture was made easy under the cover of night.
Viper 33 then proceeded underground to search the bunkers for enemy intelligence. Having found what he was looking for, the SAS member called for extraction and was surprised to find reinforcements drawn to the sounds of the helicopter. While Viper 33 managed to secure a Landing Zone for the Black Widow, he was wounded in the process and had to rely on Medivac for his return to safety.
