Delta Force: Task Force Dagger | Operation 4: Rhino - Obj Iron | Demolition | Kandahar, Afghanistan
Welcome back to Delta Force: Task Force Dagger, a military simulation, tactical shooter created by Novalogic in 2002. The game was originally meant to serve as a Standalone expansion to its predecessor, Delta Force: Land Warrior. It boasts a wide variety of weaponry and selection of character classes from various specialised military forces from around the world, all with their own unique traits and abilities. The game follows the team in question, a joint task force called Viper 33, that works to disassemble terrorist and extremist militia units across various parts of the world. The game, in contrast to older titles such as the original Delta Force, is more action-oriented and accessible, being made on the same engine as Land Warrior, even though it boasts greater design and rendering technology at the cost of simplified gameplay.
Dagger has decided to use another one of their teams for an important three-stage assault on an enemy stronghold on the Kandahar Airbase. Dubbed Operation Rhino, it will unfold in three stages. The first of these stages, Objective Iron seeks to cripple enemy defenses by leaving them blind to incoming friendly aircraft.
The Kandahar airfield comprises three radars that are used to detect air traffic. The first of these is a VHF Omni-Range beacon. The second is a Non-Directional Beacon. The final stone in Dagger's shoe is the Airfield's Radar itself.
Cobra 33 is to HALO drop 1 Km from the airfield and use satchel charges to demolish both the VHF beacon as well as the ND beacon. At the same time, Cobra 33 is tasked with destroying any computer systems on site while leaving the enemy population as undisturbed as can be.
Finally, Cobra 33 is to use an authorised CAS to demolish the airfield radar, officially crippling the airbase. The only challenge for Cobra 33 is to ensure that the airbase does not get alerted to their presence and start blaring their alarms. In lieu of that, the demolition must be simultaneous so as to not alert the base.
