Note: All 3 characters are EX+3LB and their enhancement boards. Ultimecia has her sphere and bloom passive. Squall has all his weapon passives (LD, BT, WoI), his bloom passive, and the following spheres - his, Noel, and Bartz. Shantotto has her LD.

Pre-battle preparations: Try to set HP in this order - highest to lowest - Totto, Squall, and lastly Ultimecia. Use Alexander/ Sylph as your summon as that is your only source of healing.

Wave 1: SAM08G x2 (completed on turn 39)
You will fight 2 of them and they will keep using Gatling Gun and could do AOE BRV attack with Cannon Blow. It could delay you with its Shoulder Charge. Watch out for the + variant as it has a small chance of causing paralysis.

After 2 gunshots, it will use Store. It has only a single target HP attack - Rip. Store has 2 key buffs - Gunsmoke and PHY Resist for 2 turns. Gunsmoke will drain BRV from the targeted character while PHY Resist will reduce BRV damage by Squall. Squall won't hit for peanuts as long as you have his enhancement boards and EX+3LB.

The Gunsmoke buff can be annoying as it will drain BRV from the targeted character to SAMO8G's own. This is where Totto and Ulti''s framed debuffs come handy. Double Sap and Poison will ensure those BRV gain won't be too problematic. Have Ultimecia build up her stacks or build up her the usual (i.e. S1, HP+/BRV+, HP+/BRV+). Try to save Shantotto's LD for the next wave. This wave shouldn't be too problematic as long as you manage the breaks and shave the BRV well. Do note that Ultimecia's BRV+ and S2 have gravity BRV shaving capabilities. Use that to your advantage.

Wave 2: Affect x2 (completed on turn 92)
One of the most annoying enemies in DFFOO and one of the 3 lynchpin bosses of early CHAOS. The Affect can do a lot of serious damage with its abilities. After using Aqua Power, It can instant petrify a character (highest current HP) of 2 turns with Break. If the Affect is not broken, it will use Demonsplash (it also removes buffs (included framed as well) to KO the character on its following turn.

When it uses Aqua Power, it will cleanse all non-framed buffs while granting itself with Elude (debuff evasion). So it is always important to ensure that Ultimecia or Totto's framed debuff is inflicted and has at least 2 turns before it does Aqua Power. BRV shaving will be a problem if you don't have those Sap and you can be forced to use Ultimecia's S2 to shave them off. Lucky the rotations of these bosses are pretty much fixed.

Upon 80%, 50%, 30% and 15%-10% HP threshold, it will use Aqua Power
- If you break the Affect, it will use Break
- If you are unable to break the Affect, it will use Demonsplash
- If you got broken by the Break ability, the other Affect will use Demonsplash

It will get to use Aqua Power as well when it reaches 80% HP and 50% HP threshold with Reaper Rise. After it used Break/Demonsplash, it will usually follow up with Evil Scratch. Avoid Demonsplash at all costs as it will remove all the framed buff (which could also include that precious Alexander HP regen).

Make use of high turn rate skills (Squall's S2 and Totto's abilities) to get into good turn order. Ultimecia's free turns after her EX is good as well. Use her Maelstorm if you need to do big shaving. Ideally, you will want to have Totto use her LD (for that framed 100% Paralysis debuff) every time before the Affect use Aqua Power.

This will give you sufficient time to set your order turn so that you can shave the BRV. Totto can do 4 if you have her BT, 3 if you have her LD. It is very difficult to do without Totto's LD unless you use an EX+3LB Paine. Make use of your summon and chain the BURST if you have it, the bosses should be dead before they will pose any harm to your party.
