[DFFOO JP][Kadaj LC Lufenia+]Auron tanking lethal damage with a little help from Vayne
Orb seems intimidating at first, but upon closer inspection the second condition mandates only a special attack or a debuff that ticks down and damage the boss to add 2 to the count, and it adds to both bosses even if just one of them is damaged, so Ace is on orb duty again and is relatively easy to maintain (Garnet is also tested, she works). Overall quite straight forward.
Lethal Damage:
Basically after the first boss action, they pretty much always gain massive amounts of BRV before a HP attack, so it is practically lethal without intervention. I suspect many people will use Setzer freeze or WoL call to deal with it, I have no such luxury on baby account so I relay the tanking task to Auron.
After every attack, Auron counter and heals himself, but it takes two more of his turns to regen back to above 50% to activate last stand for the next attack (if he drops to 1 that is, sometimes he has some HP left and only takes one turn to get to 50%+). So I put Vayne in there to regulate the turns: Separate Boss A and B and allow Auron to get a turn in between to regen. Since Auron is kinda slow, C65 was used to instantly get another turn for regen sometimes.
About Boss:
As far as I know, this boss used to cleanse in 10% HP intervals, but that's no longer the case. They only cleanse once at 49%, and that is why I withheld the second half of the calls till then.
This boss has a similar mechanic to D. Shiva which instantly allows them to regain recast gauge to MAX at 29/49/79% of their HP threshold. Unlike Shiva however, they do not immediately pop their recast when their thresholds are met and on top of that once they use their recast, they lose all of their gauge regardless of whether they gain that recast via natural turns or threshold mechanic. (Think D.Shiva as FFX's Grand Summon, where your aeons get one overdrive on top of another). So you can abuse this to eat only one recast after multiple HP thresholds and their natural acquisition.
They have 90 BRV dmg/70 BRV gain reduction, quite hefty but not as oppressive as Guy's Lufenia+. Ace LD, Auron LD, Vanille CA, Gabranth CA and Jack CA (only 2nd half) was employed to lower their defence, specifically used Vanille LD CA for extra BRV damage because I saved the friend and Vayne actual BT after 49%.
Difficulty and mistake:
Have to keep a close eye on Vayne's stacks, his Auron buff along with bosses' turn order and Auron's own turn far in advance. If Vayne lost Auron's sentinel buff, Auron would not cover him; If Vayne does not have the stacks to rebreak the boss and put Auron after one of the boss's action, Auron would not have last stand to eat another attack.
I brought along Shiva thinking that the newly acquired framed freeze would come into play if I summon after the 49% mark, but that plan was foiled when I realized Ace's trap was long gone and had 1 turn of the orb left before 50%, so I had to summon to avoid wipe. In hindsight, however, since the burst stacking at the end got through the entirety of the last 50% of the bosses HP, Shiva freeze perhaps was not necessary but a fail safe after all.
Alternatively I suspect people would bust out Raines after a few restricted appearance, perhaps Quistis and Aphmau would see a lot of turn manipulation use as well.
