[DFFOO JP][Lann and Reynn Lufenia+] Non-synergy Ace + Y'shtola + Quistis with CoD friend
Second blind run actually, I did not know that well if the add needs to be dead after the boss is dead, so the run is not very clean.
Things to note:
The orb requires a single person doing 850k with a single action to go up, as far as I see follow-up off-turn damage (by yourself) should count as one action. Therefore I used Ace for this purpose. In theory, units with high HP cap with 2 HP dumps or 3 HP dumps with 100% AOE should do it without off-turn damage. Garland with his follow-up with Cait Sith buff should work as well, since in my test he has dealt sothing close to 900k with a ST hit, and he was not even under his own burst effect lol. Alternatively you can boost the cap with units like Y'shtola and Caith Sith for multiple HP dumps.
Also, boss has 100% reduction towards Brv and HP damage in mid-air, so it is a blatant attempt to block a certain OP character that follow-up in mid-air. Ironically, he is actually a very good pick to kill off the adds at the start with 1mil+ damage, turn manipulate your way out so that Penelo and WoL can't one-shot you. Also, only the boss has this effect, so feel free to use adds as a punching bag for this.
Quistis is there for precise delays for the beginning of the fight. Her BRV gain and stat auras also help alot when burst effects are out.
Ridiculous instant turn mechanic (every 10-turn) makes a return, but it is not really that bad. Boss does not do a lot of dangerous things, mostly just summoning adds. She does however use charm on one character regardless of gender, so in my previous blind run I used Aphmau to negate this and again turn manipulate my way deep into the fight and held on to Y'shtola's burst effect while Ace just blew up everything.
At 50%, boss orb disappear and thus the intense damage requirement is gone. So I think it is best your use burst damage to get out of the first phase ASAP. Then boss would resummon or heal all adds back to full. Depending on your strat, you may or may not want the adds to be alive before this happens. For example, if you are using heavy AOE brv but single target damage units like Zidane, you may want them so that you can delete turns or get more brv for the HP dump.
Apparently, all adds need to be dead with the boss to count towards victory, so that ending was kind of scuffed and I had to let Y'shtola get the killing blow.
CoD is not needed at all, I had used Aphmau with the other two with a Zidane friend to huge success. That run unfortunately died because I did not check that friend and apparently his Zidane has a lot of things missing, so it was a close but dead run.
Also, the stupidest thing yet kinda funny thing is, I had Penelo get the first turn and she LD'ed and I wiped at turn 1. It was a quick reset but I found that a bad design.
I pitied Garland BT and get the Twin's BT with a ticket, haven't got the last ingot for him and EX for the twins so I will see if I do another run with them.
