DFFOO [JP][Shorts] Locked Force Time (FT) duration
Just a quick clip showing this as I don't want to put a full 25+ min run. I noticed this since Reno IW, but this one is more apparent and can be readily replicated due to CoD constantly countering. So not just our FT, but enemy FT can be locked due to our counters as well, be it an oversight, an exploit, a bug or intended mechanic.
Observation and Guess:
As far as I can tell, normally when you attack the enemy and your turn ends, the HP bonus increases and then FT counter goes down. If something, say a counter or a threshold triggered attack happen in between the HP dmg bonus increase and the turn count is supposed to go down, it would not. My guess is since the enemy acted, it is not processed as "our turn has passed".
Ordinarily unless you use a non-offensive action, both sides would not have their FT turns depleted. Once Kam has entered the fray however, the don't act from his BT stopped CoD from countering, thus breaking the cycle.
Think something akin to Divine Bahamut hitting 50% threshold in between your attacks, and your "consecutive turn" attacks do not increases the orb because an enemy off-turn action has wedged in between, interrupting the process. This is just my guess and observation though, so at the end of the day it could be due to something entirely different or there are more circumstances undiscovered to pinpoint what exactly caused this.
This is highly exploitable to farm HP bonus obviously, but one engage in such activity must also beware of the danger that since this is a mutual occurrence, you can end up locking both yours and enemy's FT to a standstill. This fight in particular has CoD continuously countering and healing 80% of the dmg done during FT. If one has not prepared a means of escape, you would be there for quite a while.
I would say as much as this being largely a single player game and you can do whatever you want, don't over rely on this, as it is very likely that this is not intended and be fixed at some point.
