The boss still dispels one buff from one of the targets twice at 40/80%. if that happens to your key buffs, like the ones from Dorgann's S2/Weiss's EX, it leaves you hanging if you go to BT phase with those missing.
You can either attempt a timely refresh, or force some generic buffs to take over the leftmost buff spot beforehand and let those get dispelled. That's where the Sazh CA came in. It was also used to extend Weiss's buff because getting to his EX before FT without lucky crystal passive proc is a pain.
Diablos was used to boost the BRV dmg due to the boss FT reducing HP to 10% and both Lightning and Dorgann enchanting. With 3 DPS and the boss having debilitating FG effect, capping may not always happen.
