Once filming was over, George actually quipped, “I think we just killed the series.” At the same time, he also called the movie a waste of money, but in later interviews, he stated that it was the biggest break that he ever had since it was the film that brought him into Hollywood. George actually had deep ties to the Batman franchise though. His cousin, Miguel Ferrer is a huge Batman fan, and his father, Jose Ferrer, was actually the first actor to be offered the role of the Joker for the Batman series in 1966.
