While all of the animals are based on real species in India, they are altered to larger sizes to show the meekness of Mowgli. This, in turn, also shows the menace of characters such as Shere Khan and Kaa, but it also shows the guardianship of characters such as Baghera and the wolf pack. Even the species of King Louie, Gigantopithecus, was enlarged for the film. The real species is only nine feet tall, but the movie version is around fifteen feet tall. While songs from the original animated film are heard playing during the closing credits, they can also be heard as dialogue bits throughout the film. Kaa says, “Trust in me”. Baloo and King Louie also kind of sing a bit of The Bare Necessities and I Wanna Be Like You.
