Dino Crisis 2 is an Adrenalin rushing shoot em up, published by Capcom in the year 2000. Its a big departure from the Resident Evil games; which this shares its game engine with, and each level brings bigger guns and bigger dinos!

Several years ago, I recorded over 200 hours of gameplay footage for PS1 and PS2 games. These have sat on the shelf for a long time, so I thought it was about time I cleaned up some footage, and added new recordings, and finally release this stuff. This was the first time I had played this game since maybe 2005, so at least 10 years had passed. Its still a great game, and an easy run and gun gore fest for those who love shooting stuff.

In this video, I play through the first quarter of level 1 - from the start of the first island to the centre of the island, with the deadly fungus plant things. Things start off relatively gently, with just a few rogue critters to make extinct. Back then it was perhaps age restricted due to its blood and gore, but today Im sure pre-teens would be able to play it. I like how there are very few puzzles to solve, and the player can get on to some serious action.

The second part of this playguide has been narrated, where we rescue Dylan and reach the Third Energy Facility, so look out for that at some point soon.

Overall, I'd say this was impressive for a PS1 game, and with later levels shaking up the action, and the gameplay quite a bit, I'd give this 9 out of 10.
