Hello guys, and welcome back to another helpful video. In this video, I'll be showing how to fix Sabre's sword on a REAL N64 in the unreleased Dinosaur Planet. This game ended up being cancelled, and was moved to the GameCube in 2001 and became Star Fox Adventures in 2002. The prototype of this December 1st 2000 build leaked on Feb 20th 2021 by Forest of Illusion on Twitter.

There's now a fix for Sabre's sword in Dinosaur Planet!

Sabre's sword has issues specific to the Dec 1st 2000 build. Mostly due to Fox's model playing a part in the problem.

The issue being the sword's texture changing to white frequently (most of the time). And going invisible when sheathed.

The invisible sword when sheathed, is due to Fox's sheath. As Sabre doesn't have one (It goes through his backpack).

As for the sword turning white, a bit in Sabre's mesh was the culprit.

These finds are made possible with credit to 'MusicalProgrammer' in the Dinosaur Planet Community Discord.

The fixes are GameShark codes:

• White Sword Fix - 81035560 240C, 81035562 0044
• Invisible Sword Fix - 81023A78 03E0, 81023A7A 0008, 81023A7C 0000, 81023A7E 0000

There's also a ROM patch for the invisible sword fix. In ROM at 37EFCC9, change 78 to 77.

You can combine the codes to get the ultimate fix for Sabre's sword!

After a little experimenting, the codes work exceptionally well! Not sure if they introduce any further issues within the game, like progression or other incorrect textures.

But I'd definitely recommend giving it a go, for a more accurate depiction for Sabre.

I've also got a quick comparison at 1:03, showing codes being used with & without.

In order for Dinomod v2.4 to work on an N64 with an Everdrive 64 X5, (not specific to X5) you need to copy and paste '0x8FBCD3CE=5' into 'save_db.txt' under CRC detection. 'Save_db.txt' is located in the ED64 folder on your Micro SD Card.
