2Hey players, DJay here with another fighting game longplay on one of Capcom's arcade hits, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior.
Description of the game:
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior is the second installment in the series released in arcades by Capcom in February 1991 for the CPS-1, as well as being the only one in the series to run on it. Home ports include the Sega Genesis, SNES, PC Engine, Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, Amiga, MS-DOS, Atari ST and the Game Boy. It was added in compilations such as Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. Because of it being a major success, it spawned several updates including the Champion Edition with members of the Shadaloo being playable, the Hyper Fighting which speeds up the game, the Super Street Fighter II for the CPS-II which adds new fighters and the new Super Combo guage. An animated movie released in 1994 is based on this game.
Taking place after the events of the first Street Fighter, Ryu had defeated Sagat to become the World Champion. Now, an even more dangerous threat begins to seek world domination. A leader of the criminal organization Shadaloo, run by M. Bison, plans to hold a tournament to select the best fighter who will work in his organization. Now, Ryu, along with other several other fighters, enter the tournament and defeat Bison to win the new tournament.
Gameplay is similar to its predecessor, but with major improvements in controls and mechanics. Players choose between 8 playable characters (12 in the Champion Edition with members of the Shadaloo) and start fighting against their opponents. They must fight 11 opponents in total to emerge victorious in the tournament. Should the player lose a match, he or she will be opted to continue the game and fight again?
