If you have ever been in a meeting with me, you have likely had the experience of me challenging something with math.
Questioning something because the numbers didn't feel right. Forcing the math to be done.

My relationship with math is "odd". That said, I think there is value in using the numbers you have to see where things don't quite line up.

Beyond Gamedev, I think most industries have numbers that can be brought to bear to quickly gut check your assumptions
