Extremely cramped map, so it forces you to have to know exactly what you're doing. This is rather typical of this megawad actually. If you didn't get it at first, the name is a play on the words "pain" and "mainframe". :)

There are a few possible variations to the run. First, you can kill all the monsters before going through the teleport to the weird checkers area. This makes it slightly easier when you get back, but the run might take longer because some of them are usually infighting while you're gone (which wouldn't happen here since you kill them).

Secondly, you can leave some of the infighting monsters at the checkers area behind. This was my default move at the start, but I realised that I had to kill them all because in some cases, not all of them follow you back through the teleporter (they can get stuck) and you can't go back. However if this works then it will definitely result in a faster run.

Finally, you can try and forget about the monsters surrounding you when you grab the first armor and rocket launcher, and directly go to the second switch that opens up the teleporter in the center (and maybe go to the secrets later). This is the hardest strategy but may also make it quicker.

I tried to get to the second switch quickly but also cleared out the area a bit first, to reduce the risk of getting trapped on the way to the secrets and, later, the teleport. Maybe I spent a bit too much time here, and I also missed a few shots, but I was happy to get under 4:00.
