Another day that went long in order to finish it all at once rather than have a short half day anothe time. Doom II: No Rest for the Living was created by Nerve software, released originally with the XBox 360 version of Doom II. It was also included in the PSN Doom Classics Collection, and here in the Doom 3: BFG Edition. It's a single 'episode' of 8 maps, supposedly one secret map but I didn't bother to look for it.

So how is it? Pretty good, honestly. I have a problem with levels 5 and 6 that just threw tons of enemies at you, from areas you'd already been, and didn't replenish as much ammo and health as I'd prefer them too. Clearly never meant to be played on Nightmare or it would be virtually impossible with just HOW many enemies were on the map at once, enemies that don't drop extra ammo. That's something to consider when you make Doom II maps, not just how Ultra Violent works, but how Nightmare does. And these would very likely fail that. Otherwise, there was some minor graphics bugs, but the quality is very good. I love the last level, one of the best boss arenas I've ever seen in Doom. And this checks the right boxes for a campaign, maps progress nicely, visual style flows perfect, you get a good progression. So yea, this is a lot of fun!
