Quake II Mission Pack: Ground Zero (Yamagi) playthrough Part 4
The more I play this expansion, the more I hate it. And there are several things that could be done to make it less annoying. The first map today just sapped me by having just no ammo to deal with the enemies. Too many things to shoot, not enough things to shoot them with. In some games, that's appropriate. This is Quake II. Give the player the tools they need to kill everything.
Beyond that, the enemy placements are frustration incarnate, especially the turrets. The turrets just deal way too much damage for how they are utilized. If they did significantly less, 5-7 instead of 20, they'd be appropriate where they are placed. Because the player can react to them. But as it stands, the player can't react to them, the player has to know they're there, or they will just cause more damage than the player can afford to lose.
