0https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/levels/doom2/megawads/marsw301 In my quest to go over material for this series, I'm always gravitating towards either the cacoawards, moddb, doomworld's I.D. archive, or random Mega.nz links to locate wads and mods, The journey isn't pretty at times but eh, I do it for the viewers and subscribers out there.
This megawad was released in 1998, I can't find a definitive release date, Author is Nathan Lineback. The story of Mars Wars notes that we're a terraformer on the surface of Mars, But something has gone seriously wrong with the newly formed United Organizations of Earth, A revolt has led to some of the people of this foundation to flee to Mars, now a invasion begins of the red planet.
Mars War's mapping is.. just painful to look at, The first map's mars colony doesn't even look like one.. Just a rectangle box, and things only decline from here, There is some good techbase usage later on but Mars War is perhaps one of the uglier megawads I'd gone over, This megwad appears to be anti microsoft accoding to what I read on The doom Wiki as Bill Gates is the icon of sin among other hidden Microsoft references, I've played rougher wads but Mars War is no diamond to me, rather a piece of carbon.
