It was when there were sites hosted such as Planet Doom, Gamespy, Telefragged dot com, many many old mod sites are all but a memory and closed forever, I myself know about the NewDoom site because it was a place I frequently came to look at after learning of the first NDCP megawad, It's here I bring the last megawad the site made before it shut down in June 2009.
NewDoom Community Project II is the 2009 followup to NewDoom Community Project and was given a winner spot at the 2009 Caocawards, It has 32 maps by various authors all from the NewDoom forums, To preface, I know well that this megawad has some serious issues surrounding it as the megawad had some problems running map02 and several of the later ones in any sourceport other than ZDoom, it also caused a lot of lag spikes til I changed some settings in my GZdoom, There were never any patches from the actual forums but Doomworld supposedly made some, I don't mind these issues as long as I can play the wad, Ammo gets tight and the last boss map is a letdown but NDCP II I think, is the swan song, the last parting gift that NewDoom forums offered players, Its memories we keep even if the site is gone.
