I'll confess I'm not exactly a fan of Superhero games nor mods and not superhero films either, They all seem the same and I zone out of boredom.. I knew well of Batman Doom but I never could work it right due to Zdoom ruining the sprites and I figured it won't be a episode til I found Batman Doom Reborn authored by Ozymandias81 and released in January 2015.
The Original Batman Doom was honored as one of the top 100 wads of all time authored by ACE Team, Ozymandias81 simply changed the mod to be a PK3 file that will work on GZDoom and newer source ports. We control the caped crusader across 32 maps which are all inspired by the tv series, comics and the batman movie from 1989 while having a custom OST that mimics the music of Batman series.
Our pistol is batrangs we throw to knock out thugs and criminals armed with guns, we get other weapons as we pursue well known villians Batman has battled though boss battles in this mod can devolve to frustration without a quick save at first. I find it nothing special but its a decent effort.
