This is number 18 of my Dr. Sadler's Chalk and Talk series, in which I address interesting questions, issues, or ideas raised in various forums, using the space of one chalkboard. This talk discusses a comparison commonly made between Plato and Freud on the parts of the soul/psyche. Many students and viewers would like to see strong similarities between Freud's and Plato's accounts of psychology based on the fact that both models distinguish three parts to the psyche. As I point out, while there are some similarities between the two different accounts, Freud and Plato actually have quite different psychologies
