Previously, Davilas reported to King Donald of Estard, who is worried about his son Kiefer's antics. Now, Davilas must catch up with Kiefer at the ruins far to the east.

Davilas leaves Estard (time 0:51).

To the south, he checks out the Woodcutter's Hut (time 1:13).

A barrel outside contains 3 gold (time 1:19).

Inside the hut, a wardrobe contains Rags (time 1:42). How lovely.

In the hut's cellar, the barrels contain a Medicinal Herb and 3 gold (time 2:13). The chest (which was locked in the PlayStation version) contains a Seed of Magic.

Outside, Davilas can approach the woodcutter for a little scene (time 2:58). His furry friends are a bit skittish. However, they do keep him well informed.

Between the Woodcutter's Hut and Pilchard Bay, Davilas finds the Shoreside Shrine (time 4:55).

Inside the shrine, the pots contain 1 gold, a Medicinal Herb, and 2 gold (time 5:16). Davilas cannot move the stone cover on his own.

East of Pilchard Bay, Davilas heads to the Eastern Estard region (time 6:13).

On the northeastern rise, a chest contains a Chimaera Wing (time 6:54).

Nearby, Davilas enters the grounds of the Shrine of Mysteries (time 7:38).

By a statue, he finds his friend, Kiefer (time 8:13). Kiefer gives Davilas an Ancient Tome to look at. Kiefer tries the Sunstone Ring, but nothing happens. He suggests Davilas take the Ancient Tome to Dermot the Hermit, the man who lives on the cliff by Estard. Meanwhile, Kiefer will try to find more information.

With that, Davilas leaves the Shrine of Mysteries (time 15:13).

First, he checks out Pilchard Bay (time 15:40). He checks in with Maribel, who has returned to town. The Ancient Tome makes her head hurt.

Davilas returns to Estard (time 18:32). He takes the tunnel to Dermot's house on the cliff.

On the lower level, he talks to Dermot (time 19:09). Showing the Ancient Tome to him provokes a humorous reaction. Realizing what it is, he takes the book and offers to figure it out. He asks Davilas to come back with Kiefer.

If Davilas leaves the house and returns, Dermot will say something funny, though it will be more amusing in the PlayStation version.

Back in the town of Estard, Davilas talks to the woman standing on the north side of the well (time 22:59). Something is sparkling in the well! Davilas drops down the well.

In the well, he finds Mini Medal #001 (time 23:37). The first of many! To view how many Mini Medals the party has, go under Attributes and look at Everyone. If Davilas talks to the lady again, she will let him keep it.

In the inn, Davilas will find good old Uncle Pike (time 24:59). He is trying to impress the bunny girl with his Sizzling Stone. Then, he asks Davilas to pick up his bar tab. Fortunately, that won't be necessary.

Davilas heads north to Estard Castle (time 27:17).

On the second floor, he finds Kiefer in the prince's bedroom (time 27:37). Kiefer has tried everything, even Pike's Sizzling Stone, which he pickpocketed while Pike was asleeping. He gives Davilas the Sizzling Stone to return to Pike. Learning that Davilas left the book with Dermot, he joins the party. Kiefer, the Prince of Estard, begins at Level 1 with a Cypress Stick and Wayfarer's Clothes. He is a good physical fighter.

The party returns to Estard (time 31:37). They take the passage to Dermot's cliffside dwelling.

Downstairs in the house, they talk to Dermot (time 32:31). Dermot explains that Kiefer has been going around things a bit wrong. What the statue requires is the pure heart of a chosen one. Kiefer assumes he has the pure heart required. Back to the Shrine of Mysteries!

However, as the party returns to Estard, they are waylaid by guards sent to drag Kiefer back home (time 36:35). They really lay it on thick trying to get Kiefer to come with them. Kiefer relents and tells Davilas to wait for him at home.

At Davilas's home in Pilchard Bay, Kiefer wakes him up in the middle of the night (time 38:21). It sounds like King Donald was really angry. But now, Davilas and Kiefer can get back to the Shrine of Mysteries.

The party saves at the church. Next time, they will return to the Shrine of Mysteries.
