Final Fantasy [GBA] Playthrough #27, Lifespring Grotto, Run 2: Shinryu
4This is video #27 in my playthrough of Final Fantasy on the Nintendo GameBoy Advance. This game is part of the Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls compilation.

Previously, the party finished their first run through the Lifespring Grotto. Now, they will begin their second run so that they can take on the other final boss in the dungeon.
They party heads back into the Lifespring Grotto west of Mount Duergar (time 0:16). Heading onto B1, they immediately find Dark Bahamut and his challenge.
After a battle, the party reaches Level 57 (time 2:50).
After satisfying Dark Bahamut's challenge, they continue down to floor B2 (time 4:53).
They continue to floor B3 (time 7:39).
They descend to floor B4 (time 10:21).
They go downstairs to floor B5 (time 12:15). Wasting little time, they fight Gilgamesh (time 12:47). His defeat yields another set of Genji Gloves.
The party goes down to floor B6 (time 15:00).
They continue to floor B7 (time 18:59). Oh joy, the town of dancers.
They descend to floor B8 (time 20:05).
They make their way down to floor B9 (time 22:37).
They continue down to floor B10 (time 24:03). Here, they take out Atomos again. They score another Judgment Staff, so they now have two items to use for free Flare spells.
The party continues on to floor B11 (time 26:46).
They find another Silver Apple (time 27:47).
The party descends to floor B12 (time 29:41). It's the castle with invisible corridors. The party finds a Megalixir in a chest. They also find a Power Vest, which is better for Yang the Master.
They keep going down to floor B13 (time 33:48).
After a battle, the party reaches Level 58 (time 37:35).
The party descends to floor B14 (time 38:05).
They continue to floor B15 (time 39:18).
They go downstairs to floor B16 (time 42:01).
They press on to floor B17 (time 44:51).
They descend to floor B18 (time 48:35).
They continue to floor B19 (time 49:38).
Finally, the party reaches floor B20 (time 54:16).
In the east, they challenge Shinryu, also from Final Fantasy V (time 54:35). Shinryu is pretty tough with a nasty bag of tricks, but unlike Omega, it does not have insane defense. Look out for its Flare spell. Upon its defeat, it yields the Ragnarok, which is a better Knight sword than the Excalibur.
The chest beyond Shinryu contains the Hero's Shield (time 58:45). Another excellent piece for the Knight.
The party uses the provided warps to leave the Lifespring Grotto. They head to Elfheim to rest and save.
Next time, they will start on the final bonus dungeon, Whisperwind Cove.
