Previously, the party took out Shinryu in the Lifespring Grotto. Now, they will start on the last of the Dawn of Souls challenge dungeons, Whisperwind Cove.
The entrance to Whisperwind Cove is just north of the Cavern of Ice in the river system on the southeastern continent (time 1:11). It can be accessed by canoe from any of the nearby patches of dry land. Whisperwind Cove opens up after the party defeats Tiamat in the Flying Fortress and lights up the Wind Crystal. It consists of forty floors, but fortunately the party only has to do one run to defeat all the bosses. If you're going for bestiary completion, that's another matter.
The party begins on floor B1 (time 1:39).
They continue to floor B2 (time 4:09).
They go down to floor B3 (time 7:06). This is a post-apocalyptic town with two robots. The party must find some parts for the robot's friend. Robo and Atropos from Chrono Trigger, maybe? The party can examine the broken-down robots in the area for the parts. Be sure to look inside the buildings. When the party delivers the parts, the robot will open up a stairway nearby.
The party finds a chest with a Soma Drop (time 7:41).
They continue downstairs to floor B4 (time 10:28).
The party reaches Level 59 (time 14:22). Cecil the Knight's maximum HP has hit the maximum of 999.
They descend to floor B5 (time 16:55).
They continue down to floor B6 (time 18:42).
They go down to floor B7 (time 20:27).
They keep on going to floor B8 (time 22:50).
The party descends to floor B9 (time 23:54).
They reach floor B10, the first boss level (time 25:38).
The first boss is Typhon from Final Fantasy VI (time 25:57). Fungahhh! Look out for his Snort, which deals instant death, even with Protect Rings equipped. Upon its defeat, it yields a Genji Helm.
Next time, the party will continue their descent through the Whisperwind Cove.
Thanks for watching!
