Elite Dangerous 2020 - Laser Mining Type 9 heavy vs Type 10 defender
In this video about Elite Dangerous, I am going to talk mainly about the differences between the type 9 heavy vs the type 10 defender while doing laser mining.
I have done some research on this topic using a fitting tool such as https://coriolis.io/
By using a tool like this you can play around with the different types of fittings without having to really buy the materials that you need.
While doing a test, I kept most of the original components in the ship itself. These are mostly un-engineered items (with the exception of the FSD, which is non-related to the comparison).
The amount of time it took me to mine materials and get a full cargo hold is quite shocking. 2 hours vs 1 and a half hour (and if you take into account the amount of cargo space these two ships can hold, yeah... plug that stuff into that too).
On average it took me 2 runs to have enough cash to have the ROI back. So it is worthwhile to do some heavy cargo ship laser mining during the weekends.
Laser mining is fun, relaxing and there is little risk involved. And the amount of cash that you can get from it is pretty good. I will do a video about in a different video.
