Enter the Dominatrix | DLC - Saints Row IV: Re-Elected
3There's no better time than now. It's the second and even more action-packed Saints Row IV DLC!
Well, actually it's technically the first DLC. I even did it before the Christmas one too, ages ago. But like I said, spoilers and whatnot. I had to hold off posting it until it would make the most sense story-wise. But even though it's the first DLC, it's still way more action packed than the Dhcistmas DLC. I wasn't kidding when I said this was one hell of a ride. It's hands-down the craziest series of shit that goes down in this entire game!
I mean, first off we DIVE OFF OF THE ROOF of the Saints' casino HQ and straight into an assault from Zinyak, followed by a comic book-esque fight between an ENORMOUS Zin and Josh- I mean Nyteblade (who dies... again). Downside with the comic style cutscene means that The Boss' character model can't be in it, meaning we have a very male Boss with my female Boss' voice. Weird, but... what can you do?
Not much time to think about it anyway, because right after that business, we're driving high-speed through the city in the crazy over-the-top-as-fuck Gat Mobile. Gotta love them openly talking about Saints Row 3 (even mentioning it by game title) and questioning the continuity of stuff. And we roll right into an all-out fight against the Zin invasion with a tank of our own.
A tank I definetely prefer over the Zin ones, personally.
And all of this happens during the day too! If any of you liked The Boss' look when she was wearing the Presidential Slacks in my videos, well you're in luck because it's what I had her wearing at the time that I started this DLC, and you get to see her wearing it in broad daylight!
The interviews betwen the missions too were crazy, just because a lot of them broke logic, and almost all of them broke the 4th wall. There were people on the ship who shouldn't have been there, especially Zinyak WHO IS DEAD. The whole thing made it feel like a hilarious Ratchet & Clank skit, and I loved it. That comedic oneshot fight between The Boss and Zinyak... good stuff. Loved Zinyak's commentary on it too. Very much reminded me of Dr. Nefarious from R&C, with Lawrence's voice.
The Dominatrix shit was definitely the peak of the violence and action, however. It was just nonstop constant killing and moving on. All the kind of shit I love in this game. I was wondering who the fuck Donnie was until they said how he wasn't in Saints Row IV, so at least I knew it was normal not to recognize him. Poor dude getting constantly shat on. Even without the Matrix getup, he kinda reminded me of the Oracle's guardian on his own. It was definitely a Matrix reference.
The fetish gear part was a bit weird. It's the only context you'll ever see me picking up & collecting furries. Funnily The Boss was more family friendly in that leather getup than in the normal attire that I have her always wearing. At least, to me her normal getup is a lot sexier. I still don't really know WHO Zimos is in the history of the series, but here is where we first encounter him in Saints Row IV. If that's his natural voice, I'm jealous af.
That chariot race that followed, though... I was not prepared for that. At least we get to hear Zack and Bobby again (or in my case, for the first time here). Very entertaining, if a bit weird. Zimos does make a good chariot horse. Wonder if that means he's hung like one too...
... anyway! There was so much randomness to this, like with escaping from inside Paul, and with the sudden velociraptor appearance. I told you there was context to when Jane mentioned about the uniting of humanity and velociraptors at the beginning of How the Saints Saved Christmas! Weird though, because as we were told in the Christmas text adventure... the whole Dominatrix DLC isn't canon...
Shame too, because that very A New Hope-esque ending (even having Donnie growl like Chewie) with the velociraptors was one of the best endings to a story I've ever seen. THAT's an ending I'd have like to see a sequel to.
Ah well. Still a great DLC. My favorite of the two. It's so over-the-top. It's so crazy and silly. And you get to see how I got the Dildo Bat and stuff like that.
As well as those three big-ass guns!
