I'm honestly quite surprised that despite the serious heavy bombing earlier on and complete sabotage of their super secret cannons, not a single soul in the P51 base decided that it might be a good idea to run away and maybe find a better place to launch their operations from.

Well, I suppose the base technically is still standing, I did have to go through a good lot before I could get to the cannons. But at the same time, that's like staying in a house during the rain with holes all over the roof. Not exactly a wise strategic decision to stick around in a place full of weak spots the enemy can exploit.
