eXceed 3rd- JADE PENETRATE - Original Mode 1cc
Hey again, everyone! So, I did another thing that I did not long ago (I took a couple days off after I did my 1st Lunatic 1cc of Imperishable Night), and it didn't take really long to do (Took only a couple days, & I only played for a couple hours each time), but it was something I wanted to do for quite some time now (I do have bigger plans with eXceed 3rd: JP later on this year).
So this game is called eXceed 3rd: Jade Penetrate. This one's the original version of it developed by FLAT, not the Black Package version done by Tennen Sozai. This one plays completely differently from Black Package. eXceed 3rd: Jade Penetrate's patterns are very fast paced and all, while Black Package has pretty slow patterns.
The game takes place in the world called Pandemonium, unlike the two other eXceed games before it. You're playing as Rayne Lindwurm, who aspires to be one of the Cardinal Lords since she was little. The story of the game is explained here: http://exceed.wikia.com/wiki/EXceed_3rd_-_Jade_Penetrate
Also, my apologies, but I did set the story demo to off (I did that, so that I can face the bosses right away, & not wait for so long), so you won't be seeing the game dialogue here. My bad. That, and even if I did turn it on, I don't know enough Japanese yet to really translate all of it. Again, my apologies. If you really want to see the dialogue, then you'll want to see 7TC7's YouTube videos of eXceed 3rd, since 7TC7's eXceed 3rd videos show the actual dialogue.
Rayne's shot-type... You can do a lot of things with her shot-type. When unfocused, you can position her dragon familiars, to where you can hit most enemies on the screen, which is very useful like, in, say, parts of stage 3 & 4, for instance. When you go to focus movement, your main shot becomes more powerful, and your dragon familiars will aim their shots at an enemy. This is very useful for fighting midbosses & bosses, naturally, as well as killing enemies that have more health than the usual ones (Ex. Bullet canceling enemies) but probably not the best thing to use, if you're up against several enemies on the screen at once. Also, if you lose a life, your reinforce bar drops a bit (5%, I believe), & weakens your shot-type a bit, so yeah.
Yeah, there's three difficulties in this game: Easy, Original, & Ultra. I did Original mode. Let's see here... The reinforce bar on your right shows how close you are to reaching the max level of your shot (0% - 0, 20% - 1, 40% - 2, 60% - 3, 80% - 4, & 100% - 5). The Lv shows how strong your shot is, from 0 to 5. The Extend bar on your right shows how close you are to your next extend.
You can have up to 8 lives in-stock at once (It should be noted that, as soon as you lose your last life cross, it's game over), & you can hold up to 4 bombs at once and no more than that (It's worth noting, that every midboss & boss drops a bomb, when you defeat them, as indicated by a Blue coin that says "B" that the midbosses & bosses drop, after you defeat them). However, the game really gives you tons of resources, to where it's pretty manageable, even if you're not too good at reading fast patterns. That, and a lot of the game's patterns is really all streaming & top-dodging, actually. Plenty of patterns are aimed at you, as well. I believe there's also some sort of deathbombing in this game, I think.
Right, about scoring... Well, I'm not exactly too positive about the scoring mechanics in this game... I'll try my best to explain. When you kill enemies, they drop coins, and you can auto-collect those by letting go of your shot. If you collect enough coins to fill the extend bar (Indicated by gold coins that say "P" on it), you get an extra life out of it. You want to try to speedkill bosses, since your score counter will slowly drop, the longer you take on the bosses, from my understanding. Also, to fill your reinforce bar (And thus, begin to get your shot-type to be at max power), you need to collect dark red coins that say "D" in it, as that will fill your reinforce bar by 1% for each one you collect. Certain enemies drop them, like bullet-canceling enemies, midbosses, bosses, & some others.
Also, yes, there is a True Last Boss (Celestia Lindwurm, the last boss & Rayne's older sister) in this game, but the only way to practice against TLB Celestia is to do a full run 1cc up to where you beat her in her regular form, so yeah.
Also, I did record this using Fraps, & my laptop doesn't work too well with Fraps, in terms of recording, so yeah, that's why the recording lags a bit (The game ran at normal 60 fps, when I played it). Apologies, but that's the best I can do, recording-wise. That, & I couldn't get MSI Afterburner to record this one.
Well, I believe that's most of the game explained there, as far as I understand. If I'm somehow missing something, I'm wrong on something, or you want more info, like, say, for example, you want me to explain some of the enemy patterns in the game, feel free to ask me! =)
