I got really lucky finding this the first time. The trick requires a couple of things, AFAIK. I think all that needs to happen is to void out during the cutscene, so your body is actually gone, deleted like an object by the door closing on it. After the cutscene is ended, if I understand it right, it seems to give some ability to save after that. It allows you to quicksave after the cutscene even if you're dead, and if you quickload, it even allows you to stay dead without the death menu showing up, but the ability to save there is only because of the cutscene. I presume this would still work if you weren't dead when you manage to have your character deleted, but I'm not sure how to check that, as being dead is what allows you to get close to the door, or even to touch the trigger before the cutscene ends. So, ending the cutscene with your character deleted seems to allow you to quicksave in the void, so then I just quickload. This seems to put me back at the start of the map, or perhaps even just where I initially loaded in from, and then I just walk to the exit that the trigger opened.
