The abandoned Tungsten Peak Mine was where Ridgecrest resident Linda Lou Rose died when she accidentally fell down a 100-foot vertical shaft inside the mine back in November of 2009. There is some confusion regarding her name -- the memorial placed at the mine site says her name was Linda Lou Rose. News stories reporting the accident say her name was Linda Marie Rose. I initially explored this mine site in July of 2013 but did not enter the mine. Instead, I promised to return to the mine with other explorers so that we could safely explore the mine's three levels and find the vertical shaft where Ms. Rose died almost five years ago. This video documents our most recent exploration of the Tungsten Peak Mine's 3500 feet of workings. It was an eerie mine, and we found many disturbing things such as animal skins nailed to the timbers, collapses, flooded sections, and dead birds. And the gaping shaft that swallowed Ms. Rose.
