We made a brief stop at the Western Talc Mine to investigate its burned-out and collapsed inclined shaft. Entry into the mine was possible at this point. We briefly explored what we think was the first drift level off of the inclined shaft. As we ventured down the twisting tunnel, more and more signs of collapse and imminent collapse became apparent. We decided this area of the mine was too dangerous to explore, so we made a hasty retreat.
