On the way up the canyon to the Defense Mine, one passes by the small Lead Mine. This was probably a one or two-man operation back in the day. The adit is collapsed. Directly in front of the adit is a steeply inclined shaft. It looked too unstable to enter. The ore bin still stands on the edge of the wash. The miner's cabin collapsed a long time ago. I found a heavy, large coffee pot laying on the ground nearby.
