We undertook the arduous task of trying to locate and explore the Golden Skull Mine in the Laguna Mountains. Not much is known about this particular mine except that it's very remote and seldom visited. We had to bushwhack through dense brush and forest in a narrow ravine. We inadvertently stumbled across a series of pink ribbons that had been tied to branches and bushes every twenty feet or so. It seemed to be a trail that we thought might lead us to the Golden Skull Mine. The mine itself was approximately 300 feet long and full of twists and turns. We discovered an unusual structure outside the portal and many, many bats inside the tunnels.
