In Eyes Wide Shut, Kubrick’s soundtrack creates depth with carefully chosen music pieces. Classical and orchestral works dominate, including Jocelyn Pook’s eerie “Masked Ball” and Shostakovich’s “Waltz No. 2,” which blurs the line between film and reality by playing as both diegetic and non-diegetic. Ligeti’s “Musica Ricercata” provides haunting piano motifs that underscore tension, while Chris Isaak’s “Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing” intensifies scenes with Bill and Alice. Other songs, like “Strangers in the Night,” add irony, and various jazz pieces reflect Bill’s encounters, adding layers to the film’s themes of secrecy and desire.

This is a passion project of mine, inspired by an essay by Nik Dobrinsky. I’ve incorporated voices from FakeYou.com, created by Vegito1089, and added some artistic touches to make it more engaging—such as having a fictional HAL-9000 narrate the story, which will evolve as the series progresses. I hope there are no copyright issues, as I have no intention of monetizing this for personal gain. All rights belong to their original owners, including the essay by Nik Dobrinsky, which I’ve used as a basis for this narrative.
