Fallout 4 - How to increase Field of View (FOV) - Editing .ini file
Greetings, everyone.
A quick video this time around, for Fallout 4 on the PC, regarding Field of View adjustments we can make via .ini file editing, like we could in previous games.
The file we need to edit is called “fallout4.ini” this time around, and it should be located on “%USERPROFILE%\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\”, similar location as in the previous games. Only this file needs to be edited, from my own experience and testing, so any additional edits you might do in other .ini files will have no effects whatsoever on the FOV, or at least that’s the case for me, anyway.
Just edit the file with notepad or your preferred editor and under the [Display] section add the commands “fDefaultWorldFOV=X” and “fDefault1stPersonFOV=Y”, where X is the FOV used for THIRD person view and Y is the FIRST person FOV. I recommend using at least 90 for the first person FOV and whatever value you feel it’s best for third person, usually a bit lower than the first person one. Personally I prefer my first person FOV a bit over 100 in first person games.
Also, keep in mind these are HORIZONTAL values for the FOV, usually the most frequent presentation of FOV in games.
The default FOV for the game is 70 for third person and 80 for first person, something which can be quite bad for some people, so if you’re feeling bad / sick (literally) while playing the game, it’s probably the FOV and you need to change it ASAP.
Hope you guys like this short video, and see you in the next one : )
